The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

If you have carpet with a high or low pile there's a robotic vacuum for you. These smart appliances automatically navigate around your home, and can scoop up dirt and clean under furniture.

Many of them have advanced features, such as mapping, which allows them to navigate your home and remember furniture placement. They can also increase suction power to tackle dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694"

The Roomba 694 by iRobot is a basic robot vacuum that is able to work on bare floors and low-pile carpet. It has good suction, but struggles with larger debris such as sand or grains of rice. It is capable of cleaning pet hair but is not as resistant to tangling as the premium Roomba models such as the I6 and j7.

The Roomba is simple to use. It has three buttons on its top cover: 'Clean' starts a cleaning cycle and 'Dock' allows it to be put back in its charging station and 'Spot Clean' triggers the targeted cleaning. It can be controlled with a smartphone app that allows you to schedule and stop/start cycles, and also adjust settings. It is also possible to pair the device to smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant to control it through voice commands.

This vacuum is a little slower than other models, but it is still able to get into the most crevices and corners. It has a large dustbin, which is great for reducing the frequency with the frequency you have to empty it. It's compatible with digital maps and virtual barriers which let you make it impossible to clean certain areas or stop cleaning altogether in order to prevent it from getting stuck on something.

It's not the top in its price range but it's still better than most other options. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694, with a much better cleaning performance for carpets that are low and bare. It also has a more durable battery and a better route. It is also more robust, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, is priced less over its lifetime, and charges faster than 694.

It's also worth considering other models that are more expensive in the iRobot line, like the 981 or the v7. They're more expensive, but they offer significant improvements over the 694 in terms of cleaning performance on both low- and bare floors. They also follow an efficient cleaning path, have a bigger dirt compartment, are faster to charge, maneuver themselves more easily, and are much easier to connect to smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does a good job on low-pile carpet and hard flooring. Its combination brush gets into corners and edges, and it automatically boosts suction when it senses carpet. It also excels at cleaning dirt that is embedded in the middle of the pile carpet. The IQ has a small footprint and also a self-emptying function. However, if you wish to change the floor levels on the map, or set no-go zones you'll have to manually reset it to do this, which is a bit of an inconvenience.

The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation features however, it's not able to access no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. The smart-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, but it does have a tendency to get caught up in rug tassels. Its iHome speaker lets you operate the robot by voice commands.

During our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair well, clearing an impressive amount of debris from floors that were not bare and moderate amounts from medium-pile carpet. It was less effective with shag carpets, where it struggled to get at dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was able navigate chair legs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on floors with no flooring but it quickly recovered and performed more thoroughly than the other robots we tried.

The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses.  vacuum mop robot cleaner  has a larger dustbin and a longer battery life and is more adept in navigating around obstacles. It also comes with mopping attachments that can deal with sticky mess. The iRobot, on the other hand feels better built and has less components that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no go zones using its companion application. It can even resume a cleaning session from the point it started if it is unable to recharge its battery prior to it has completed the task. The iRobot is also controlled by voice, which can be an enormous benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't one of the most advanced models, but it offers excellent cleaning power for affordable prices. It's designed for budget-conscious buyers who don't require a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. The robot is able to last for over an hour. It includes a remote control, cleaning tool and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim and sleek, and features a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like polished aluminum. It's a nice change from the industrial and utilitarian designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

The eufy11S performed well in our tests at removing larger debris and fine dust from hard flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean medium and high-pile carpets. The device is also prone to smack into furniture and other objects in its path, but it's able to detect these obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud noise when it encounters an obstacle. You can then manually steer the device around it to get it to work again.

The BoostIQ mode is another fantastic feature of the eufy11S. It allows you to configure the robot to automatically adjust the suction strength based upon the type of floor and the amount of mess. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you want it to move.

Single Room Mode is a great option if you have little furniture in the space you want to vacuum. The eufy is capable of spending up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.

You can also choose Edge Cleaning that limits the time spent in each location to 20 minutes for maximum battery life. With this option the eufy moves in a spiral, tackling corners and edges for an efficient clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also exceptional. It is able to remove rice and other fine particles with ease. The suction power doesn't diminish when the dirt bin is full. Its design that is allergy-friendly and sealed with air will trap allergens to keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you don't need additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.

It's not quite as powerful as the more expensive models, but is still excellent for deep cleaning and fighting the toughest stains. It comes with two cameras in front which provide live feeds to your smartphone. It also comes with one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It also has a large dustbin, a long running time and a speedy clean-up that is free of bumps.

Contrary to other robots the Complete C1 can switch between two powerheads, a standard one and a turbo head for different flooring types. The turbo head is great for low-pile and high-pile carpeting, while the standard powerhead can be used on bare floors and lightweight carpets. It also has an automated height adjustment system, that allows it to adapt to various types of flooring without any manual adjustments.

This model comes bundled with an SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle hard floors as well as medium-pile carpeting. The powerhead can also be easily moved and can reach hard-to-reach areas. It comes with five different adjustments to the surface and an off-brush switch to avoid tangled hairs.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll and an UtraClean mode that cycles across the same area three times to ensure the most thorough cleaning and a self-emptying bin that can be emptied with the push of a button. The volume of noise produced by this model is greater than other models. However, its powerful motor with 1,200 watts and sturdy construction justify the extra cost.

If you're willing to pay some extra money then the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is a great all-around robot vacuum. It performs better on carpets than the Classic C1. It is better suited for all kinds of floors and is built more securely, and comes with a HEPA filter.
